Creativity in Crisis Creativity doesn’t lie in just learning and emulating certain skills, it is about bringing your own originality and ingenuity in creating something. This lockdown will provide you ample opportunities, time and space to boost your creativity.

Prolonged periods of self home arrests owing to lockdown because of COVID19 and the resultant shortage of resources, other than essentials, can indeed boost your creativity. Wondering how? Read on.

Here's how you can get more creative during these indefinite times: We tend to keep a lot of art and craft material in our homes, which have stacked up over the years just with the hope that it may be of some use in the future. That future is here and now. Instead of copying ideas from the internet or youtube, you can use your own imagination. instead of creating something the traditional or typical way, try giving it a twist by doing it differently. You never know, by putting in all your latent talent of drawing, painting along with a mix match of decorative stuff lying idle in your homes, you may make a nice wall or home art decor piece to add beauty to your own home interiors or you can also gift it to your loved ones on their special occasions.

While watching recipe videos involving a lengthy list of ingredients, instead of trying to replicate the same recipe, you can add a twist to it by adding a few other ingredients you have at home but are not the same ones as given in the recipe. When you don’t have the exact list of ingredients as given in the video, and when you add your own ingredients to it, you will be making something new, a customised version of the original dish. A couple of ingredients less than the original recipe, and a few other different ingredients added, it is still going to be yummy with a different twist. And by plating it in a different way than that of the original dish, you will be making an all together new version of it.

Home chores can get monotonous and mundane by doing the same things everyday. But if you do them along with your favorite music playing in the background or listening with your earphones on, it won't feel dull and drab anymore. Your daily cleaning and tidying up routine will become more enjoyable. By playing your favorite playlists everyday, you will be looking forward to listening to them while working. A tiring task will then become more of an enjoyable workout experience for you.

While on your work days, you are always pressed for time due to workloads and hectic schedules. You never find time to sit back and reflect on your passions or hobbies. This is the time to pursue them as you have all the time in the world with no time and work constraints. With a slew of online classes, tutorials and youtube videos available these days, you can finally indulge in things that you have been passionate about.

It is understood the times are tough for each one of us now irrespective of age, gender and social status. Instead of fretting, sulking and brooding as to what will happen next in the current lockdown situation, and all the disappointing and depressing news around, make out a schedule that will best utilize your time and try to stick to it. In the schedule, prioritize health, hygiene, wellness and cleanliness of you and your family by doing home chores together, charting out time for hobbies, family time, entertainment, indoor sports, yoga, music, reading etc while limiting screen time for yourself and your loved ones. Instead of being connected virtually via mobiles, talking in person multiplies ideas.
